C loves his cousins a lot (I’m sure I’ve mentioned that before!). He and Lilly are only 1 month apart so my sister and I spend way too much time just watching the babies play when we’re together. Their temperaments are pretty different: Lilly is feisty and strong-willed while C is laid back and happy-go-lucky.
Belle, C, Lilly, and Chris at my sister’s house
They are both curious and interested in getting in to EVERYTHING they possibly can. They both study life with such interest and this picture is a great example of that!
It was Father’s Day weekend and we were busy celebrating the fathers in the family so there wasn’t a lot of work happening. J/Josh/Lizzy/I did manage to: go to the farmers’ market (lettuce, 3 dz. eggs), the Sweet Shop (yum!), knock down random wasp nests on exterior of house (success!), check the attic for the dead/stinking animal (no luck), clear coat dining room table, and paint lots of dining room trim. Other than that we basically stuffed our faces and relaxed:)
My sister cam over with her brood of 4 lovley kids on Friday and C and Lilly had fun playing together:) Did I tell you C learned how to climb in this fireplace? Yes, he did learn this EXTREMELY important skill last week.
A snake was apparently sunning on our grape vines outside the stairway window. Bella (5.95 years old) was trying to pick the grapes through the open window when this scared critter came crawling in next to her! Needless to say there was plenty of freaking out (also known as screaming) but we (mostly Josh) managed to get the terrified snake free. The kids let us know his Freedom Flight progress as he slithered off the grape vines, over the brick wall, and through the yard. BTW, those fuzzies hanging from the snake’s mouth are from my broom. We tried to nudge it out with the broom but all that accomplished was giving Snake a mouthful of fuzz. Yum!
Josh shot this pic of C before we dashed out for a Saturday Father’s Day dinner:)
>The playroom will conclude our EXCITING tour of The Estate. Perhaps next week will have the UPSTAIRS in store??? We can only hope. Fingers crossed. Countdown begins now. On the edge of your seat fun at my blog!!!!
PS- those of you with kids: were you amazed by how fast your baby became mobile? And how amazingly adept they were at exploring every centimeter of your house? Life is fascinating to an 8 month old and more so now to this 30 year old:)
We replaced the light fixture and painted the walls a light turquoise. That door is one of !!3!! that lead to the back deck so we don’t use it. In fact, I don’t know that we’ve ever even opened it? It will get replaced with a window or wall one day. In The Hopeful Far Off Future.
Back when C could only roll. Sigh.
I love this room. Did I mention that the living room and this playroom are my favorite in the house? Also, that rug was in our last house; I bought it at HomeGoods. I think it looks marvelous in this room!
Here’s what we do in the playroom, clockwise: occasionally eat on the floor with C (look how tiny!!), ignore dead flies on the floor (not anymore since everyone in the house now has good fine motor skills), learn how to crawl, and most recent, freak out Mommy when holding on things with only ONE hand.
His other old favorite thing: cousin Charlotte’s Exersaucer. Another not so cool piece of C’s past. We keep it around for desperate situations that call for trapping a baby:)
